Zambia Calls for Stronger Regional Health Collaboration

Zambia has urged African countries to strengthen cross-border collaboration to address shared health challenges affecting the continent.

Speaking at the Regional Nursing and Midwifery Conference in Livingstone, Acting Minister of Health Cornelius Mweetwa said Africa’s health challenges go beyond national borders and require coordinated regional solutions.

The conference, organized by the African Nurses and Midwives Confederation, focuses on improving cooperation among nursing and midwifery professionals through skills standardization, collaborative research, exchange programs, and the use of digital health technologies.

More than 200 delegates, including over 60 international participants, are attending the meeting. The conference aims to strengthen regional partnerships and promote resilient and inclusive healthcare systems across Africa.
