UCZ CALLS FOR POLITICAL MATURITY, ACCEPTANCE OF ELECTION RESULTS.

UCZ Synod Bishop Festus Chulu said elections were a constitutional right and an important democratic process which should not be allowed to divide the nation.

“We call upon all citizens to approach the general elections with peace, wisdom, tolerance, and a deep sense of responsibility,” Bishop Chulu said.

He urged voters to respect differing political choices and reject violence, misinformation, and hate speech, reminding Zambians that they remain one people despite their political differences.

Bishop Chulu also appealed to political parties, candidates, and their supporters to exercise restraint, maturity, and statesmanship as the country enters the final stage of the electoral process.

“Political leadership is fundamentally a responsibility to serve the people, not an entitlement to power at all costs,” he said.

He further called on candidates to respect electoral institutions and processes, and to channel any grievances through lawful and constitutional means.

Bishop Chulu urged citizens to accept election outcomes through democratic and legal processes, stressing that Zambia’s unity must transcend partisan interests.

“Zambia is bigger than any political party, candidate, or election,” he said, calling on citizens to safeguard the nation’s peace and unity for future generations.
