PRESIDENT HICHILEMA RELIEVES ELIJAH MUCHIMA AND ELIAS MUBANGA OF MINISTERIAL DUTIES
Hakainde Hichilema has relieved Elijah Muchima and Elias Mubanga of their ministerial positions in the latest Cabinet changes announced from State House.
According to a press statement issued by the Office of the President in Lusaka, Mr. Muchima has been relieved of his position as Minister of Health, while Mr. Mubanga has been removed from his role as Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development.
The statement indicated that the action was taken in accordance with Article 116, Clause 3(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia, which grants the President authority to appoint and relieve ministers.
“The President has exercised his constitutional mandate under Article 116, Clause 3(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia,” the statement read.
President Hichilema expressed appreciation to the two ministers for their service to the Government of the Republic of Zambia and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. Their successors are expected to be announced in due course.
