Hichilema Promotes Zambia Army Officers to Higher Ranks

President Hakainde Hichilema has promoted several Zambia Army Officers and Warrant Officers Class Two to higher ranks. The promotions were announced at a rank insignia pinning-on ceremony at Army Headquarters.

Zambia Army commander Lieutenant General Geoffrey Zyeele conveyed the President's congratulatory message to the newly promoted officers, urging them to remain loyal to the system and government while upholding military professionalism. He challenged both male and female officers to demonstrate competence and discipline in their new roles.

Notable promotions include four female officers, with one elevated to brigadier general and three others promoted to colonel. Adjutant General Brigadier General Ben Banda described the promotions as well-deserved, attributing them to hard work and dedication. A parade was also held at Arakan Barracks, where officers were decorated with their new ranks. Brigadier General (Dr) Golden Ng'andwe encouraged the officers to discharge their duties with diligence and commitment.
