HICHILEMA PLEDGES INCLUSIVE AND RESULTS-DRIVEN GOVERNANCE

President-elect Hakainde Hichilema has thanked Zambians for renewing his mandate, assuring citizens that those who voted for him and those who did not will be treated equally under his administration.

Addressing the nation this afternoon, Mr. Hichilema reaffirmed his commitment to protecting every citizen without discrimination.“The government will protect every citizen,” President Hichilema said. He also stressed the importance of education, describing it as “the greatest investment for humanity.”

Mr. Hichilema pledged to pursue multi-sectoral expansion aimed at growing the economy, attracting more investment and creating additional jobs. He further highlighted the need for increased representation of young people, women and persons with disabilities in Parliament.

“This is an opportunity to have more youths, women, and people living with disabilities in Parliament,” he said.

The President-elect also called for greater accountability among public service workers, saying work should not be measured by the amount of time spent on duty, but by the results produced. “Work is not the amount of time it takes, but the results it produces,” President Hichilema said.

He particularly cautioned healthcare professionals against spending excessive time on social media while on duty, urging them to prioritise patients and effective service delivery. President Hichilema assured Zambians that he would not take their trust for granted.

“From this moment on, we will continue the journey we have been on,” he said.
