FOUR PEOPLE DIE IN STABBING INCIDENTS IN NKEYEMA DISTRICT.

Four women have died in a series of stabbing incidents that occurred on March 15, 2026, in Kalapo Area of Nkeyema District in Western Province.

Police say the suspect, identified as Kalaluka Chuma, allegedly attacked the victims while they were on their way to Kalopa New Apostolic Church. 

One of the victims was carrying a three-year-old baby on her back who survived the attack, while her five-year-old son managed to run to the village to alert community members.

According to Western Province Police Commissioner Rae Hamoonga, the suspect later attempted to attack another person but was apprehended and beaten to death by members of the public. 

Police have since opened four inquiry files as investigations into the matter continue.
