CHITAMBALA WINS LUSAKA MAYORAL ELECTION
UPND candidate Simon Chitambala has been declared the winner of the Lusaka Mayoral election after receiving 200,029 votes.
Lusaka Returning Officer Oliver Muka declared Mr. Chitambala duly elected after a total of 450,600 votes were cast, with 8,026 ballot papers rejected. NRPUP candidate Gabriel Kibombwe came second with 195,041 votes, while Independent candidate Simon Mwila finished third with 32,043 votes.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Chitambala pledged to prioritise keeping Lusaka clean and called for collaboration with residents to improve the city.
