ZCSA seizes 282 crates of expired Mosi Light beer in Ndola valued at K78,960

The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) has seized 282 crates of expired Mosi Light beer from a named distributor in Ndola, valued at K78,960.00.
ZCSA Communication and Public Relations Manager Brian Hatyoka said the seizure followed a tip-off from a whistle-blower in Pamodzi Township, Ndola, regarding the sale of expired clear beer.
He said the products contravened the Zambian Standard ZS 430: Clear Beer Specification and the Compulsory Standards Act No. 3 of 2017.
Mr Hatyoka says the seized products have since been restricted pending disposal, in line with the Agency’s mandate to protect public health and safety.
He warned that punitive measures would be taken against entities supplying non-compliant products on the market, noting that such goods pose serious health risks.
Mr Hatyoka also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious products covered by compulsory standards to the nearest ZCSA office.
He added that ZCSA remains committed to enforcing compulsory standards and has heightened enforcement, public awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement nationwide.
Meanwhile, the Agency has disposed of 1,610 cases of non-compliant Royal Sachet Water seized from Precision Royal Beverages Limited last year, following the completion of administrative processes.
