ZAMBIA U15 BEAT ZIMBABWE IN CLOSING MATCH

Zambia’s Under-15 boys’ team wrapped up their campaign at the CAF African Schools Football Championship with a 2-0 victory over hosts Zimbabwe.

Forward Allan Chinambu scored a brace in the 6th and 26th minutes to secure the win and silence the home crowd in Harare.

Despite the strong finish, Zambia exited the main competition at the group stage after recording draws against Tanzania and Senegal, and a loss to Benin.

Head Coach Evaristo Mkandawire expressed mixed feelings following the match, noting disappointment over the early exit but satisfaction with the team’s development.

“While we are disappointed to have exited the competition early, the boys have shown great improvement and character throughout the tournament,” Mkandawire said.

Team captain Thabo Sindwa, who led the side against Zimbabwe, described the experience as valuable for the young squad.

“It has been a challenging but rewarding tournament, and we have learned a lot that will help us grow as players,” Sindwa said.

The young Chipolopolo’s performance has been seen as a positive sign for the future, with the team showing resilience and potential despite their early elimination.
