World Public Assembly Marks a Qualitatively New Stage of International Dialogue

Moscow, Russia
The First World Public Assembly (WPA) concluded with a strong call for unity, peace, and cooperation, gathering more than 4,000 participants from over 150 countries. The two-day event became a major platform for public diplomacy, bringing together politicians, diplomats, entrepreneurs, religious leaders, scientists, educators, and cultural figures to discuss the future of humanity.
The central event of the Assembly, the Plenary Session, outlined the ideological and value priorities of the forum under the theme “New World of Conscious Unity.”
Secretary General Andrei Belyaninov captured the Assembly’s spirit, stating:
“Many of us have difficult fates, but a common sense of unity has united us all.”
This sentiment was echoed by Monsignor Hilary Franco, Adviser at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the UN, who described the Assembly as a gathering of “people of light” committed to choosing peace over division.
Speakers stressed that the key to overcoming global challenges is recognizing humanity as a unifying force. Monsignor Franco reminded participants:
“We have one common denominator: humanity. Today, the world needs mutual understanding, and no division can truly bring salvation.”
Alexandra Ochirova, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and Co-Chair of the WPA Supreme Advisory Council, emphasized the fusion of man and culture in defining civilization, adding:
“No one in the world can resist the combined minds.”
A powerful written address titled “The Voice of Reason” by Madame Sabena Johannes, President & CEO of Afritrack Angola, called for humanity to renounce war and suffering:
“Beyond politics, beyond skin color, beyond social status, our position is the ability to see humanity collectively and affirm that we are human beings.”
The International Youth Forum “Generation of Unity” formed part of the WPA’s program, underscoring the vital role of young people in shaping the future.
Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, highlighted that the intellectual potential of youth is the “engine of social transformation” and that global cooperation is essential to build a just world order.
Prominent speakers such as Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, remarked that history was being written before the participants’ eyes:
“The Assembly is global, public, and the first of its kind. It has every right to go down in history.”
Former SCO Secretary General Rashid Alimov called the Assembly a “qualitatively different stage of dialogue,” noting that conscious unity represents a new phase in international cooperation.
The First World Public Assembly demonstrated that the future of international relations lies in cooperation rather than confrontation. By uniting diverse voices from around the world, it set the foundation for sustained dialogue on peace, trust, and human development.
