VICE PRESIDENT HONOURS CHILUBA'S LEGACY AT MEMORIAL SERVICE
Vice President Dr. W.K. Mutale Nalumango today joined the Chiluba family, government officials, church leaders, members of the diplomatic corps and other citizens at the 15th Memorial Church Service in honour of Zambia's Second Republican President, Dr. Frederick Jacob Titus Chiluba. Speaking on behalf of President Hakainde Hichilema, the Vice President described Dr. Chiluba as a distinguished son of the soil whose contributions to democracy and national development remain significant.
Dr. Nalumango said Dr. Chiluba dedicated his life to public service as a trade unionist, politician and Head of State. She noted that his role in Zambia's transition to multi-party democracy remains one of the most defining chapters in the country's history, adding that his leadership helped shape the democratic space Zambians enjoy today.
The Vice President further highlighted Dr. Chiluba's efforts in improving livelihoods through housing, transport, entrepreneurship and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. She urged citizens to honour his legacy by embracing patriotism, unity and visionary leadership while extending condolences to the Chiluba family on behalf of the nation.
