Tanzania Defence Advisor Concludes Tour Of Duty In Zambia

Tanzania’s Defence Advisor accredited to the Republic of Zambia, Colonel Bula Bulali, has concluded her four-year tour of duty in the country.

Col Bulali bid farewell to the Ministry of Defence and its Services during a farewell engagement in Lusaka.

Speaking after her tour, Col Bulali said Zambia and Tanzania recorded significant progress in military training and cooperation during her tenure, which began in 2022.

She cited the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Zambia National Service and the Tanzania National Service earlier this year as one of the key milestones achieved during her tenure. The agreement focuses on cooperation in business and agriculture.

“That Memorandum of Understanding between the National Services of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia will help us to achieve broader national development goals in our respective countries,” Col Bulali said.

She said such initiatives are important in promoting friendship and the two countries’ shared commitment to regional stability and security.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Defence Acting Permanent Secretary Milicent Mwenda said Col Bulali’s tenure contributed to strengthening relations between the Defence Forces of Zambia and Tanzania.

Mrs. Mwenda said military exchanges and capacity-building programmes between the two countries had been successful during Col Bulali’s time in Zambia.

“You served as an important link between the two countries and you helped in our military cooperation and friendship,” Mrs. Mwenda said.
