POLLING AGENT KILLED IN MATER0 ELECTION-DAY ATTACK

A 57-year-old polling agent has died after allegedly being attacked by a group of people at Kasamba Polling Station in Matero, Lusaka, during the August 13, 2026 General Election.

Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba identified the deceased as Lovemore Chishima and said nine suspects have since been arrested in connection with the alleged murder. The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Police have urged members of the public to remain calm as investigations into the incident continue.
