Police, TIZ Join Forces to Strengthen Integrity.

Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba said the partnership was vital in improving service delivery and boosting public confidence in the Police.

Mr Musamba said this when a TIZ delegation led by Policy and Research Manager Bright Chizonde paid a courtesy call on him at Police Service Headquarters in Lusaka.

He commended the Zambia Police Integrity Committee for promoting professionalism and ethical conduct, noting that its collaboration with TIZ had yielded positive results.

“Our core mandate is service delivery, and we cannot deliver effectively without transparency and accountability. The Integrity Committee has been key in this regard, and through our work with partners like TIZ, we are strengthening integrity within the Service to ensure our services reach the people in a fair and professional manner,” Mr Musamba

Meanwhile Mr Chizonde said, TIZ had worked with the Zambia Police Service over the years, including supporting the Integrity Committee and implementing capacity-building programmes aimed at promoting integrity and good governance.

“Transparency should not always be measured. It is absolute. Where there is a lack of integrity, corruption happens. Our joint work with the Zambia Police Integrity Committee is a clear example of how collaboration can strengthen accountability and foster a corruption-free society,” Mr Chizonde said.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in capacity building, public awareness and advocacy against corruption.
