Over 90 Cooperatives In Chawama Constituency Receive Grants; 865 Youths Awarded Skills And Boarding Secondary School Bursaries
A total of 107 cooperatives in Chawama Constituency have received government grants worth K2,491,288 through the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The government has also given Skills and Boarding Secondary School bursaries worth K7,734,108 to 865 students.
Speaking at the handover event, Lusaka Mayor Ms. Chilando Chitangala said the grants and bursaries are not just free gifts but investments in the city’s future. She said they will help improve people’s lives and benefit the whole country.
The Mayor thanked the government for supporting communities and encouraged more programs like this. She said helping young people with education and business opportunities is important for development.
At the same event, Lusaka District Commissioner Mrs. Rosa Zulu also thanked the government for the grants and bursaries. She said they will help people start businesses and boost the economy.
Representing Mrs. Zulu, Mr. Presley Mushikita, the District Coordinator of Fisheries and Livestock, said the grants will help small businesses grow, while the bursaries will give students access to better education and jobs.
She urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and encouraged students to take their studies seriously.
