MULUNGUSHI TEXTILES REOPENS IN KABWE AFTER TWO DECADES

The Zambia-China Mulungushi Textiles Joint Venture Limited has officially reopened in Kabwe District, Central Province, marking a significant milestone in the country’s industrial revival efforts.

Speaking during the event, President Hichilema expressed concern that such a vital national asset had remained closed for nearly two decades, especially at a time when Zambia is striving to accelerate development.

The Head of State reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises, including those not initially outlined during the campaign period, emphasizing that such initiatives are aimed at creating jobs and business opportunities for citizens.

Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Chipoka Mulenga, commended students from Mulungushi University, Kwame Nkrumah University, and Kabwe Institute of Technology for their efforts in preparing the premises, including maintaining the grounds ahead of the event.

Meanwhile, Bwacha Constituency Member of Parliament, Sydney Mushanga, praised president Hakainde Hichilema for fulfilling campaign promises. He noted that the reopening of the textile company will create opportunities for young people and contribute to poverty reduction, ultimately transforming lives in the community.

Residents of Kabwe have welcomed the development with excitement, expressing optimism about renewed employment opportunities and economic growth in the area.
