MWANSABOMBWE PUPILS CONDUCT EXAMS UNDER TREES

Grade twelve pupils in Mwansabombwe district in Luapula Province undertook their food and nutrition practical mock examinations in food and nutrition under trees on August 5th 2015.
At the newly upgraded Kazembe Secondary School, pupils did their examinations under trees because the institution does not yet have facilities for such subjects.

In the effort to make education more accessible to communities, the government upgraded Kazembe basic school to a secondary school.

Although the school was upgraded, nothing much has been done on infrastructure and learning materials.

But despite challenges being faced, the school management is still determined to ensure learning takes place.

Headteacher, Gregory Mambwe, said the Ministry of Education should aim at providing infrastructure, learning materials and quickly address the shortage of teachers.
Meanwhile, Education deputy Minister Sydney Mushanga was happy with the quality of work on the 1X3 classroom block under construction at the same school

Mr. Mushanga was in the area to monitor projects under education.
