ICU Equips Government Staff with AI Skills.

The Information and Communications University ( ICU) has commenced a ten-day practical training workshop in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI for Tourism and Government Services. The training is being held at the ICU Cyber Centre in Lusaka.

The workshop is being facilitated by ICU AI expert Eng. Billy Peter Munyenyembe and is equipping ministry staff with practical knowledge on how AI works and how it can be applied responsibly. Participants are learning about AI models, tokens, Transformer technology, AI agents, GPTs and coding agents.

The training is also emphasising human oversight, with participants encouraged to use approved AI tools while ensuring people remain responsible for decisions, approvals, publishing and testing AI-generated content. The workshop is expected to strengthen the use of AI in improving tourism and government services.
