Murder Trial of Former IBA Director General Adjourned Due to Illness.

The Lusaka High Court has postponed the murder trial of Guntila Muleya, the former Director General of the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA), to April 11, 2025.
The trial, originally set to commence today, April 7, 2025, was adjourned after one of the accused, Samuel Dokowe, reportedly fell ill.
This case involves four individuals who stand jointly charged with one count of murder. The accused include two police officers, Mthusani Dokowe Basa and Caleb Zulu, as well as business executive Samuel Dokowe Basa and Francis Chipyoka, an accountant at the IBA.
Mr. Muleya was tragically killed in July 2024. Further proceedings will now depend on the recovery of the accused, as the court aims to resume the trial as scheduled.
