Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe Officiates Graduation of 1,552 School Health Teachers

Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe yesterday officiated the graduation ceremony of 1,552 School Health Teachers in Chinsali District,in a significant milestone for Zambia’s school health program,
The event marked a key step in strengthening health education and support across schools in three provinces.
The graduation is part of a broader national initiative that has already seen 15,000 teachers trained in school health programs, covering 2,000 schools and reaching approximately 2.5 million learners.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sikazwe commended the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, highlighting the program's role in promoting the well-being and academic success of learners.
The School Health Teacher program focuses on empowering teachers with knowledge and tools to address key health issues such as hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention within the school environment.
The ceremony brought together education and health officials, teachers, and development partners who celebrated the achievement and reiterated their commitment to expanding the program nationwide.
As Zambia continues to prioritize integrated health and education interventions, the graduation signals ongoing progress toward healthier schools and stronger communities.
