MPUNDU’S SURETIES SUMMONED OVER ABSENCE FROM COURT
The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has summoned the two sureties for former Nkana Member of Parliament Binwell Mpundu to explain his absence from court.
Mpundu was expected to appear before Magistrate Webster Milumbe today for a ruling on whether he has a case to answer in the ongoing seditious practices case. However, he was not in court, and the defence told the court that attempts to contact him had failed.
Magistrate Milumbe has ordered the sureties to appear on 17th September 2026 to explain Mpundu’s whereabouts. The State has warned that it could seek a bench warrant if he fails to appear at the next sitting.
