Kaliningrad to Host All-Russian Youth Media Forum SHUM 2025 with 1,200 Participants

The Kaliningrad region will host the All-Russian Youth Educational Forum “SHUM” from August 12 to September 14, 2025, bringing together 1,200 young media specialists, journalists, and content creators from across Russia and abroad. The event will take place under the Rosmolodezh.Forums platform and is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, and the nonprofit SHUM Youth Center.
Now in its fourth edition, SHUM has become a leading platform for youth in journalism and media, offering participants opportunities to connect with top industry experts, sharpen their content creation skills, and collaborate on innovative projects.
Four Sessions, One Mission
The 2025 program is built around four educational tracks, each tailored to different groups of young media professionals:
-
SHUM.MediaCenter (August 12–18) – For student media activists and young professionals in youth policy and education media teams.
-
SHUM.MediaExperiments (August 22–27) – For teens aged 14–17, focused on hands-on content creation, supported by the Movement of the First.
-
SHUM.Professions (September 1–6) – For journalists, press secretaries, bloggers, and content creators developing careers in media.
-
SHUM.Community (September 9–14) – For SHUM alumni, partners, and experts, serving as a launchpad for joint projects and collaborations.
Global and Public Participation
International journalists and media specialists will also attend, continuing last year’s tradition when over 100 participants from 86 countries joined the “Journalism of Industry 5.0” program. Registration for foreign participants will open via the World Youth Festival Directorate’s platform.
Alongside the educational program, SHUM will also offer public events—open lectures, cultural activities, and an industry business program fostering dialogue among state, corporate, and civil media sectors.
