IG Musamba Commends UN Peacekeepers
Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba has commended nine Zambian police officers who have returned from the United Nations Mission, where they were deployed on international peacekeeping duties in South Sudan. The officers were recognized for their professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty, which contributed to global peace efforts while representing Zambia on the international stage.
Mr Musamba said the officers demonstrated integrity, courage, and dedication throughout their mission, reinforcing Zambia’s reputation as a reliable partner in international peacekeeping operations. He urged them to share the experience gained with fellow officers, emphasizing the importance of applying skills in conflict resolution, human rights observance, and community engagement to strengthen policing in the country.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director Peace Support Operations Pious Mulumo said the directorate is preparing another team of officers for future missions. During their deployment, the officers supported civilian protection efforts, contributed to community policing initiatives, and helped build the capacity of local law enforcement agencies while engaging with vulnerable communities.
