Huawei Calls for Greater Investment in Higher Education

‎Huawei has joined key stakeholders at the first-ever Zambia's Higher Education Indaba in Livingstone, calling for greater investment in quality higher education to unlock Zambia’s full potential. Speaking on behalf of Huawei Managing Director, Mr. Dylan Liu, the company’s Director of Communication and Public Affairs, Mr. Louis Mwape, reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to supporting education through innovation, technology, and strategic partnerships.

‎Mr. Mwape said education remains the cornerstone of sustainable growth and national development, especially in an era where technology and innovation drive global progress. He noted that investing in higher education is not merely desirable but essential to building a skilled and competitive workforce capable of steering Zambia’s socio-economic transformation.

‎He highlighted Huawei’s ongoing initiatives, including the “Seeds for the Future” programme and the Smart Village projects in Namwala and Mumbwa Districts, which aim to bridge the digital divide and enhance learning opportunities for students in both urban and rural areas.

‎Mr. Mwape further called on government leaders, educational institutions, and the private sector to unite in prioritizing investment in higher education, saying that collaboration and the use of technology are key to creating inclusive, innovative, and world-class learning environments for Zambia’s youth.
