Government procures 83 thousand liters of chemicals to prevent the spread of Army worm across the country .

The Government of Zambia has stated that, it has procured 83 thousand liters of chemicals to prevent the spread of Army worms across the country.
The Agriculture Minister Michael Katambo was quoted by ZNBC News and other media houses that these chemicals are ready for distribution to the farmers across the whole country
The Minister said this said that all agricultural coordinators have been instructed to ensure that required chemicals are distributed to all the districts in readiness for any potential Army worms attack.
He says the ministry expects the number of reported cases to increase between now and the time of harvesting.
Chief Zingalume hinted that quite a number of fields have been invaded by the pests saying farmers should quickly access pesticides that government has already dispatched to the district.
