Absa Bank Zambia, Unions Sign 2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement

Absa Bank Zambia PLC has reaffirmed its status as a top employer with the successful signing of the 2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement alongside the Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers (ZUFIAW) and the Bankers Union of Zambia (BUZ).

At a ceremony held today, Absa Bank Zambia Managing Director Mizinga Melu highlighted the bank’s continued focus on employee growth and welfare. "Absa Zambia was recognized as a Top Employer for the fourth consecutive year, and today’s agreement underlines our commitment to employee well-being," she said.

The new agreement grants a K3,300 across-the-board salary increase for unionized employees effective 1 April 2025. It also includes improved provisions to enhance overall employee welfare.

Both parties agreed to revisit the rates of pay after 12 months, as stipulated in Clause 1(b) of the agreement.
