From Classroom to Company: Danny Mulyansalu Graduates in ICT While Building a Thriving Tech Firm

The Information and Communications University - ICU has marked another graduate success story with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in ICT (Systems Engineering) by Danny Mulyansalu—a journey defined as much by entrepreneurship as by academics.

Graduating without the distinctions that often dominate celebratory posts, Mulyansalu’s achievement stands out for a different reason: balance. Throughout his studies, he was simultaneously building Yamfumu - Technology & Marketing Agency, a venture that demanded time, resilience, and real-world problem-solving. While many peers focused exclusively on lectures, Mulyansalu spent long hours developing products, learning through execution, and navigating the realities of running a growing company.

That practical immersion paid off. Yamfumu today delivers software engineering, development, and marketing services to clients across Africa and Europe, competing confidently with more established firms. The company now generates revenue and employs a team of eight, an uncommon milestone for a student entrepreneur still completing undergraduate studies.

For Mulyansalu, the degree represents more than a certificate. It symbolizes discipline and follow-through: graduating on time while scaling a business built on consistency, learning, and execution. He acknowledges that his academic path did not mirror the traditional route, but emphasizes that skills acquisition, vision, and sustained effort shaped outcomes beyond grades.

His story challenges conventional narratives around age, timing, and success, underscoring that progress can take many forms. With one chapter closed and others ahead, Mulyansalu’s journey reflects a growing trend at ICU, where industry-oriented learning meets hands-on application, and students are empowered to transform ideas into impact.
