Eswatini Commends Zambia’s Educational Advancements

The Kingdom of Eswatini has praised Zambia for its notable progress in the education sector.

Principal Secretary in Eswatini’s Ministry of Education and Training, Ms. Nanikie Mnisi, highlighted Zambia’s education reforms as exemplary during a courtesy visit to Zambia’s Minister of Education, Douglas Syakalima, in Lusaka.

Leading a team of education officials on a benchmarking mission, Ms. Mnisi expressed admiration for Zambia’s achievements in improving education delivery.

"Zambia has made commendable strides that Eswatini can learn from. Our visit aims to gain insights into how institutions like the Teaching Council and the Teaching Service Commission operate, with the goal of applying similar frameworks in Eswatini,” she stated.

The Eswatini delegation is particularly interested in structures that could guide the formation of the Eswatini Council of Educators.

During their visit, they will hold discussions with key bodies including the Teaching Council of Zambia, the Examinations Council of Zambia, and the Zambia Qualifications Authority.

Mr. Syakalima welcomed the delegation and underscored the value of intra-African cooperation and the exchange of ideas.

“As Africans, we have the capacity to solve our own issues. By sharing knowledge and learning from one another, we can adopt best practices and improve our educational systems,” he said.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Dr. Kelvin Mambwe, reaffirmed Zambia’s openness to collaboration, stating that Zambia is committed to supporting neighboring countries in the pursuit of quality education for all.
