Chinkuli in Receipt of Clean Water Source

Chinkuli Basic School in Chinkulu ward of Chongwe District will no longer have water problems following the donation and hand over of a water kiosk by the Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Zambia (HFHZ) in Chongwe.
Chinkuli ward zone 8 headman Kennedy Mapulanga thanked ZACL and HFHZ for the provision of a clean water source.
Headman Mapulanga explains that diseases such as cholera will no longer affect the pupils and people in the area because of the clean and safe water.
“We have had a lot of problems at this school especially in the water area….and for this gesture which has been given by ZACL, as headmen, we really appreciate. Our children, our teachers and the surrounding villages will be having clean and safe water,” he said.
And Sergent Ndolo, a grade 8 pupil at the school said that the provision of a water source at the school is a very nice thing and it will reduce access to clean water challenges in the school.
HFHZ Board Chairperson Brighton Phiri implored the school and community at large to guard the facility jealously to ensure continued provision of safe and cleaning water.
And ZACL Managing Director Fumu Mondoloka who disclosed that the clean water initiative is an investment of thirty-nine thousand kwacha (K39, 000) says the initiative will benefit and enrich over twenty thousand (20, 000) people inclusive of over one thousand three hundred (1, 300) pupils.
The ZACL MD adds that no one in the community should ever have to worry as to whether or not they will fall sick from drinking contaminated water.
