Chingola Man Murders Ex-Wife, Son Before Taking Own Life

A 42-year-old man of Chiwempala Township in Chingola on the Copperbelt has allegedly murdered his former wife and their eight-year-old son before taking his own life.

Police say the suspect, identified as Frank Sinkala of Nchanga North, reportedly stabbed his former wife, Chomba Chanda, to death on Wednesday afternoon before fleeing the scene.

He later returned and took away their Grade Two son, Salifya Sinkala, whose body was discovered early this morning around 05:30 hours behind Nchanga Rangers Football Club Stadium.

Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Mwala Yuyi confirmed the incident, stating that the child was found lying face down in a pool of blood, while the father was discovered nearby hanging from a tree.

Both bodies have been taken to Nchanga North General Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
