Bishop Davies And Wife Arrested For Defiling Orphaned Children
Bishop Davies Banda and his wife, who ran an unregistered orphanage in Lusaka's Chudleigh area, have been arrested for allegedly defiling and abusing the children under their care.
The orphanage, which was supposed to be a safe haven for vulnerable children, turned out to be a hub of horror and abuse.
The arrest came after Community Development and Social Services Minister Doreen Mwamba made an impromptu visit to the facility, where she uncovered the disturbing tales of abuse. Two young girls, who had spent over 16 years in the orphanage, courageously came forward to expose the bishop's unholy deeds.
According to the victims, they were repeatedly defiled by the bishop, who claimed to be their "spiritual father." One of the survivors revealed that when she sought help from the bishop's wife, she was beaten and ordered to apologize for "ruining the bishop's name."
The minister was visibly shaken by the horror stories and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. "We will make sure that all the culprits abusing children are brought to book," she stated.
The police have arrested the bishop and his wife, and the government has shut down the orphanage, removing all 60 children, some as young as three years old, to ensure their safety.
