BELGIAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AWARDED 8 BILLION UNITED STATES CONTRUCT

Mansa/ June 29, 2017/ THE LEADER……… A-Belgian Construction Company has been awarded an 8 Billion United States of America Dollars contract to construct a smart resort city in Senior Chief Kalasa Mukoso’s area of Samfya District in Luapula Province.
Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa has disclosed the development to the Zambia News and Information Services in Mansa today. He added that the US Company will build a smart resort that will also have a self-sustainable industrial infrastructure park.
SIRPRYZE Continental Zambia Limited Vice President David Pasa who announced the development said his company will this year begin to beautify Samfya town respectively.
He said construction works would commerce before the end of the year after resettlement of the people on the land allocated for construction.
“The smart resort city will sit on over 40,000 hectares of land and the chief will have 13 percent shares in the project as compared to projects where chiefs can only have three percent shares,” Dr. Pasa said.
Dr. Pasa said the smart city would be developed alongside an industrial infrastructure park to support it by creating jobs for local and foreign people.
He said the industrial infrastructure park was meant to support the city by creating thousands of jobs to guarantee people’s buying power.
And Dr. Pasa has assured Mr. Chilangwa his company would wholeheartedly support the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference. He said his company will not only partner with the Provincial Administration but also exhibit at the first ever investment showpiece.
The Vice President also handed over a hard copy of the memorandum of understanding respectively.
Meanwhile a team of investors have arrived in Luapula Province with intentions to invest in agriculture, ago-processing and tourism.
The commercial farmers and infrastructure developers arrived in Mansa ahead of the Luapula Expo to invest in Milenge and three other Districts.
Phillip Nicolle from Agro- Vision in the Mkushi Farming Block led the team of partners to pay a courtesy call to Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa.
“We are seriously considering to invest in Mansa, Chembe, Milenge and Samfya here in Luapula Province, “Mr. Nicolle and his partners BMS infrastructure Limited said.
And Mr. Chilangwa applauded the investors for the support to take part in the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference scheduled for next month.
