Altai – The Bell of Peace: World Public Assembly to Highlight Civilizational Dialogue

Moscow, September 2025

The World Public Assembly will host a landmark panel session titled “Altai as the Junction of Civilizational Worlds”, emphasizing the region’s role as a unique spiritual and cultural crossroads of Eurasia.

Moderated by Ivan Belekov, Adviser to the Head of the Altai Republic and Head of the Assembly’s Representative Office in the Altai Republic (Russia), the session will explore intercultural dialogue, spiritual values, cultural diplomacy, and the renewed ideology of Eurasian integration.

Belekov explained:

“Altai is not only the guardian of the most ancient layers of Eurasian culture. It is a living embodiment of polyethnicity and poly-confessionalism, where Orthodoxy, Islam, Buddhism, Tengrianism, Judaism, and other traditions coexist.”

The discussion will center on:

  • Intercultural dialogue and synergy of Eurasian peoples.

  • Spiritual values and moral guidelines in turbulent times.

  • Cultural diplomacy and historical experience of cooperation.

  • Modern challenges including information hygiene and transnationalization.

The session will bring together high-ranking politicians, diplomats, scientists, and public figures from across Eurasia, including:

  • Argamakov Amyr, Senator of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly (Russia)

  • Bakashova Zhyldyz, Director, National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan

  • Kubanychbek Bokantaev, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia

  • Andrey Borisov, Theater Director, People’s Artist of Russia

  • Davaa Kan-ool, Chairman of the Supreme Khural of Tyva (Russia)

  • Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin, Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia

  • Mukhametshin Farid, Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan (Russia)

  • Leonid Kalashnikov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots (Russia)

  • And several other distinguished experts from Greece, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and the Altai Republic.

The session draws inspiration from great thinkers:

  • Writer Grigory Grebenshchikov described Altai as “the bell of the earth.”

  • Anthropologist Theodore Schurr called it “a key point of human migration for thousands of years.”

  • Scholar Lev Gumilev saw Eurasianism as Russia’s destiny.

  • Artist Nicholas Roerich named Altai “the pearl of Asia with a great future.”

The panel will not only celebrate Altai’s cultural and historical richness but also serve as a step toward building a spiritual platform for harmonious Eurasian coexistence. Organizers hope Altai will resonate as a “bell of the future world” — symbolizing cooperation, harmony, and creation.
