Nizhny Novgorod, September 15, 2025
The volunteer program for the World Youth Festival Assembly (WYF-2025) has officially launched in Nizhny Novgorod, mobilizing 450 volunteers from 54 regions of Russia to support the major international youth platform.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dmitry Ivanov, Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate, who praised the remarkable response from young people:
“We were impressed by your response: 3,700 people wanted to help organize this large-scale event. We selected 520 of the most active candidates, with 450 working at the venue and 70 deployed to Moscow’s airports and train stations. Volunteers are the foundation of any event, and your professionalism is the key to our success,” Ivanov said.
Svetlana Anufrieva, Minister of Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, emphasized the crucial role of volunteers:
“It is volunteers who are the face of the Gathering, directly interacting with participants and ensuring a comfortable experience. We will support them every step of the way,” she stated.
Volunteers will assist in nine functional areas, including logistics, media relations, accreditation, flow management, protocol service, catering, language support, and information services. They underwent online training covering volunteer ethics, guest interaction, and case studies before arriving at the venue for on-site preparation.
The launch event included performances by KOZ.A (Anastasia Mokrushova), who sang “V Nizhnem tvorit” (Create in Nizhny), and Anastasia Baukina, winner of a Presidential Fund project, who performed “Yasno Solnyshko” (The Sun is Shining).
The volunteer program is partnered with “Volunteers 800” and supported by a strong network of general partners including Russian Music Union, Russian Railways, Phygital Games, VK, Rosatom, Sovcombank, Soyuzmultfilm, and many others. RT serves as the general information partner, with ANO “Dialogue Regions” as the general media partner.
The WYF Assembly is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), co-organized by the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and delivered by the World Youth Festival Directorate. It is part of Russia’s national project “Youth and Children” and continues the legacy of the 2024 World Youth Festival that brought together 20,000 participants from 190 countries.
