21 SUSPECTED ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS APPREHENDED IN KABANGWE OPERATION.

Police in Lusaka have apprehended 21 suspected illegal immigrants during an operation in Kabangwe west conducted around 10:00 hours on March 18, 2026. The operation followed information from community members about foreign nationals being harboured in a house in the area.

Officers found 13 suspects at the house, while others attempted to flee. A further 8 individuals were later picked up within the surrounding area, bringing the total number to 21. Preliminary findings indicate that 20 of the suspects are believed to be Ethiopian nationals and one is believed to be Somali.

The house is linked to a man identified as Michael Kyalo, who is currently on the run. Investigations are still underway, with the department of immigration working with police, while members of the public are urged to continue providing information to support law enforcement.
