Moscow, August 27, 2025 – Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary-General of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World, highlighted the Assembly’s inclusive philosophy and preparations for its inaugural World Public Assembly, which will take place September 20 - 21 in Moscow, during a recent TASS interview.(TACC)
Originally formed in 2017 as the “Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia,” the organization expanded to include Africa in response to growing interest from African partners - thus becoming the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia and Africa, and now, in 2025, rebranded as the Assembly of the Peoples of the World to reflect its truly global mission.(TACC)
The upcoming summit aims to bring together about 2,000 public opinion leaders from nearly 150 countries, emphasizing education, culture, and sport as the pillars of people’s diplomacy.(TACC)
Belyaninov underscored the Assembly’s unwavering principle: “For us, there are no ‘bad’ countries - only unresolved issues between governments.” The event is open to representatives from all nations, regardless of current political tensions.(TACC)
To facilitate meaningful outcomes, the Assembly has already established advisory councils - including cultural cooperation, authors and readers, ethnotourism, and digital economy—and recently launched the “Greater Eurasia-Africa” committee to strengthen regional public diplomacy.(TACC)
On the question of advancing the concept of a Greater Eurasian Partnership, Belyaninov emphasized the power of grassroots connections: “Where politicians fail to reach agreement, people on the ground often succeed by forging practical ties based on common interests.” He cited organizations such as BRICS as evidence of these evolving multipolar dynamics.(TACC)
