ZRA PRAISES CLEARING AND FOWARDING AGENTS
According to ZNBC NEWS.The Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- has praised Clearing and Forwarding Agents in Zambia for improved tax compliance and trade facilitation.
ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda says the Authority appreciates the work of Clearing and Forwarding Agents because they are important in the facilitation of imports and exports.
Mr. Chanda is particularly impressed at the competence levels and professionalism of some clearing agents.
The Commissioner General has cited the top 10 Clearing and Forwarding Agents who have scored highly in value for declarations and Value for Duty Purposes (VDP).
The clearing industry in Zambia currently has 719 active clearing companies out of which 10 companies control 90 percent of business and the rest share the remaining 10 percent.
Mr. Chanda has however warned Agents that any acts of misclassification of goods and smuggling would lead to their licenses being revoked.
He was speaking in Nakonde when he visited Northern and Muchinga Provinces.
This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News by Zambia Revenue Authority Corporate Communications Manager Topsy Sikalinda.
