Zambian Mission In South Korea Courts Prospective Investors

A five member South Korean delegation is expected to arrive in Lusaka, Zambia today.

This is the first team of prospective investors to obtain visas and travel to Zambia from South Korea since the Zambian Mission opened in late 2014.

IN a media relase obtained from First Secretary for Tourism in Seoul Nthemba Kamanga-Minja the team is on a 7 day fact finding trip to explore the various opportunities available in the construction sector.

Ms. Kamanga-Minja says the delegation members include Mr. Jeong Jin Young and Mr. Martin Joe, Consultants from GE Construction, Mr. Ahn Chun Woo, an Architect from Design Group HAM, Mr. JaeHyun Park, an IT Programmes Developer from East Busan Holdings and Mr. Ri Cheon Cha, a Surveyor from Yoolim Driling.

And speaking at a meeting held at the Zambian Embassy in Seoul, Zambia’s Ambassador to Korea Mumba Kapumpa expressed delight that the team is heading to Zambia and highlighted the various sectors that the country has to offer in terms of investment.

Ambassador Kapumpa says Zambia is a peaceful and politically stable nation and that in addition to its welcoming business environment and many tourist attractions, it is at a strategic location in a dynamic region that could serve as a land-linked transit hub to its eight neighbours.

He noted that much of the investments in Zambia have been in the mining sector and there remains a number of vast untapped opportunities still awaiting development particularly in the Energy, Tourism, Construction and Agriculture sectors.

Ambassador Kapumpa says the coming of investors to Zambia is also an indication that the country has continued attracting investments and still remains a key investment and tourist destination of choice.

He also encouraged the delegation to take time to enjoy the various tourist attractions Zambia has to offer which include the breath taking Victoria Falls.
