Western Province JETS Fair 2025 Underway in Senanga, Merging Innovation with Cultural Pride

Senanga, July 4, 2025 - The 2025 Junior Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists (JETS) Fair for Western Province is underway at Senanga Boarding Secondary School, running from July 3rd to 8th.
This year’s fair, themed “Promoting Innovation, Engineering and Entrepreneurship: Accelerating STEM Growth and Development,” has drawn participants from schools across the province who are showcasing scientific projects in key areas such as agriculture, health, environmental science, civil engineering, medicine, renewable energy, and ICT.
Set in the culturally rich Western Province, home of the famed Kuomboka Ceremony and the Lozi Kingdom, the fair reflects the province’s growing dedication to educational advancement and innovation. The event provides a platform for young learners to present locally relevant solutions to national challenges through science and technology.
First-place winners in the senior and innovation categories will receive K1,000 cash awards, full scholarships to the Information and Communications University - ICU, and admission into the Zambia Research and Development Center - ZRDC Research Community, with ongoing mentorship and development opportunities.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled to take place during the course of the fair. The event will conclude on July 8th, 2025, with an awards presentation to honour the top-performing learners and projects.
