Tambatamba Calls on Firms to End Casualization, Enforce Labour Rights.

Labour and Social Security Minister Brenda Tambatamba has urged companies across the country to comply with labour laws and end the practice of casualization.

Speaking during a visit to Pembe Milling Limited, Ms. Tambatamba said industries must align their operations with legal standards in order to support government’s economic growth agenda.

She stressed that all workers deserve contracts that meet statutory requirements and called on firms to register every employee with social security bodies such as NHIMA and NAPSA.

At the same event, Pembe Milling Human Resource Manager Amy Mwape disclosed that the company employs more than 400 people.

Meanwhile, Labour Commissioner Given Mutengwa encouraged workers to unionize and choose representatives, warning that lack of representation can leave them vulnerable to exploitation and denial of their rights.
