Svetlana Smirnova Meets Banjul Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe to Discuss Global Unity and Humanitarian Cooperation

August 20, 2025 – Svetlana Smirnova, Chair of the General Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World, held a meeting with Rohey Malick Lowe, Mayor of Banjul, the capital city of The Gambia, to discuss the upcoming World Public Assembly and the role of African leaders in building a world of conscious unity.
During the meeting, Mayor Lowe shared her experience in implementing humanitarian initiatives in The Gambia and highlighted the importance of international cooperation among East African countries.
As part of the discussions, both parties agreed to sign agreements between the World Public Assembly and the World Union of Mayors, as well as with an organization addressing humanitarian issues in The Gambia.
The Mayor expressed her keen interest in fostering cooperation between the Assembly of the Peoples of the World and East African nations. She also emphasized her commitment to facilitating contacts and collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening humanitarian connections and regional development.
This meeting marked a significant step toward expanding international dialogue and enhancing joint efforts to address urgent global challenges.
