REMOVE TRADE BARRIERS-FUNDANGA

According to Robert Mwanza ZNBC Reporter,Former Bank of Zambia Governor Caleb Fundanga has called for the removal of the barriers to trade if the country is to grow its economy.
Dr. Fundanga said Zambia has a lot of materials that can be exported to improve the flow of foreign currencies in the country.
He says there is no country that can develop without improved cross border trade especially export of locally produced and sourced commodities.
Dr Fundanga who is the Ambassador for Intra Africa Trade Fair says there is also need for the country to promote value addition of product.
He was speaking during the Intra-African trade Fair sensitization conference in Lusaka.
And Ministry of Commerce senior Economist Kelvin Kamayoyo said the ministry will ensure that business firms participate in the fourth coming Intra African Trade fair.
Mr. Kamayoyo said it is the ministry’s mandate to promote the export of commodities by local manufacturers and industries for the development of the country.
Meanwhile, Zambia Development Agency Acting Director for Exports Development Obby Banda said the agency stands ready to facilitate the exports of locally produced commodities to promote the export business.
