Proflight Zambia Increases Flights to Solwezi and Kasama
Proflight Zambia has increased flight frequency and capacity on its Solwezi and Kasama routes this October in response to growing passenger demand, providing travellers with more options and improved connections.
The airline has introduced an additional Friday service between Lusaka and Solwezi, with flights departing Lusaka at 11:05 and arriving in Solwezi at 12:15. The return flight leaves Solwezi at 12:50 and arrives in Lusaka at 14:00, allowing passengers to connect conveniently to the airline’s Friday service to Johannesburg, which departs at 15:40.
The additional Friday flights will operate until Christmas and resume in March 2027. A further Tuesday service will begin on October 13, departing Lusaka at 16:35 and arriving in Solwezi at 17:30. The aircraft will remain overnight in Solwezi before returning to Lusaka on Wednesday morning, arriving at 07:20 and providing passengers with an opportunity to connect to the 08:15 Johannesburg flight.
Meanwhile, Proflight Zambia has increased flights to Kasama in Northern Province to six times a week, using a 29-seat turboprop aircraft. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, flights depart Lusaka at 10:25 and arrive in Kasama at 12:00, with return flights leaving at 12:35 and arriving in Lusaka at 14:10.
Friday flights operate in the afternoon, departing Lusaka at 14:10 and arriving in Kasama at 15:45. The return service leaves Kasama at 16:20 and arrives in Lusaka at 17:55. The airline has advised that some October dates may have slightly different schedules due to planned aircraft maintenance.
Proflight Zambia Director of Government and Industry Affairs, Captain Josias Walubita, said the additional flights would provide passengers with greater flexibility, more choices and improved connectivity. He added that the changes reflect the airline’s commitment to matching capacity with demand across its domestic network.
The expansion follows changes to the airline’s Mansa route, where flight frequency was increased in July. Since September 13, Mansa has had a daily scheduled service for the first time. The development comes as Mansa Airport undergoes runway and terminal upgrades that could eventually accommodate larger aircraft.
Proflight Zambia, established in 2005, operates domestic and regional routes from its Lusaka base, connecting passengers to destinations across Zambia and selected destinations in Southern Africa.
