President Hichilema Commends Zambian Peacekeepers for Their Service Abroad

President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed gratitude to Zambian peacekeepers serving in various United Nations Peacekeeping Missions, acknowledging their bravery and dedication to preserving global peace.
President Hichilema was speaking through Minister of Defence Ambrose Lufuma during a prayer service held at Arakan Barracks in Lusaka to mark the United Nations International Peacekeepers Day.
President Hichilema emphasizes the government's commitment to supporting and equipping peacekeepers to effectively carry out their roles in conflict zones.
He also appeals to the United Nations and local leaders in conflict-prone regions to intensify efforts aimed at ending violence and promoting harmony.
The ceremony included the launch of a book authored by Brigadier General Dr. David Sanene, highlighting Zambia’s contributions to peacekeeping, while UN Resident Coordinator Beatrice Mutali and Warrant Officer Class One Bwalya Nkandu praised the courage and humanitarian efforts of Zambian troops in challenging missions.
