PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ADVOCATES FOR STRONGER ZAMBIA-EGYPT ECONOMIC TIES

President Hakainde Hichilema has emphasized the need to strengthen economic collaboration between Zambia and Egypt, highlighting key areas such as water harvesting, which he noted is critical to both food security and economic advancement.
He stressed the importance of deepening both governmental and citizen-level business interactions to drive mutual economic development. “It is essential that we maintain our focus on economic growth and strategic partnerships, building on the solid foundation of our longstanding bilateral ties,” President Hichilema stated.
He also expressed appreciation for Egypt’s ongoing support, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.
President Hichilema made these remarks during a meeting at State House with a delegation from Arab Contractors, led by Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia, Mayada Essam.
During the same engagement, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, Charles Milupi, revealed that Arab Contractors had shown interest in contributing to Zambia’s road infrastructure projects.
Ambassador Mayada Essam noted that President Hichilema’s recent visit to Egypt in February further solidified the historical and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The Chairperson and CEO of Arab Contractors, Ahmed El Assar, also shared that the company has been operating for seven decades, underlining its experience and commitment to infrastructure development.
