The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has advised members of the public to play a role in protecting themselves by exposing traders selling expired products.
Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) Public Relations Officer Hanford Chaaba says the public has a duty to report any person selling products or goods that are not supposed to be sold.
Chaaba says that it is pleasing that some members of the public are already taking part in reporting trader selling expired products so that the public consumes safe food.
He says that all persons should be concerned about their health because expired products can bring health complications to human health.
Chaaba further revealed that a combined tam of CCPC and Public Health Officers from Solwezi Council managed to confiscate expired drinks worth 390 kwacha from 24 restaurants after a tip off from a concerned member of the public some weeks ago.
