PETER MUTHARIKA LOSES AN ELECTION.
The constitutional court in Malawi on Monday nullified the election President Peter Mutharika won last May, citing massive irregularities during the process.
The court verdict resulted from a court challenge filed by Saulos Chilima, leader of the opposition United Transformation Movement Party, and Lazarus Chakwera, leader of the Malawi Congress Party. Hence the court has called for fresh elections within 150 days and also reinstated for Vice president Saulos Chilima respectively.
The Judge Healey Potani’s announcement of the verdict spurred instant celebrations from opposition supporters who attended the court session.

The court also found that MEC had breached constitutional provisions demanding transparent elections.
