MUFUNTE DONATES JERSEYS TO FORMER CLUB SOLWEZI POLICE DOVE QUEENS
Zambia Women’s National Team goalkeeper Chishala Mwila Mufunte has donated a full set of jerseys to her former club, Solwezi Police Dove Queens FC, in appreciation of the Zambia Police Service’s role in her football development.
Mufunte, who is on loan at Green Buffaloes WFC, said the Police supported her transition from striker to goalkeeper after she was spotted by former Zambia Under-17 coach Charles Halubono. She went on to represent the Under-17 and Under-20 teams before joining the senior Copper Queens and featuring at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Receiving the donation, North-Western Province Police Commanding Officer Commissioner Brighton Siwale commended Mufunte for remembering her roots and inspiring young players. He said the Zambia Police Service remains committed to supporting women’s football and urged Mufunte to maintain discipline as she develops her career.
