Man Dies in Suspected Poisoning Incident in Kalingalinga

‎Police in Lusaka are investigating the suspected poisoning of a 47-year-old man, identified as Moses Daka, who was found dead in Kalingalinga Compound early Sunday morning.

‎The body was discovered around 06:00 hours near Fipelwa na Lesa shop after area Councillor Mukubesa Nyoni alerted police. Officers who visited the scene found the deceased lying outside a gate with foam and a watery substance coming from his mouth. A bottle labeled “Bloom” and another empty container labeled “Boam”, both suspected to contain poison, were recovered near the body.

‎Investigations revealed that on August 16, Daka and his family were evicted from their rented residence. While his wife and two children found shelter at a neighbour’s house, he opted to stay with their belongings outside. He was last seen alive around 20:00 hours that evening.

‎Police say the body has been taken to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary for a postmortem to determine the cause of death, as investigations continue.
