CHIPATA MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED HATE SPEECH

Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba said officers found the video, posted on an account called "Slow Boys," on Thursday last week.

Police identified the suspect as Rabson Phiri of Ma-Referendum Township in Chipata District and Kaomba Village under Chief Madzimawé in Kasenengwa District. Mweemba said the offence allegedly took place between August 18 and August 26, 2026.

Rabson Phiri is being held at Chipata Central Police Station and has not yet been charged. Police are considering charges under Section 65 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act Number 2 of 2021, and he is expected to appear in court soon.
